A new advertising campaign by online agent Nested is highly critical of high street firms, which it says do only half the job.
Nested says in the TV adverts that it is a “double agent”.
It says: “We are the estate agents that not only sell your home but can negotiate thousands off your next.”
In the advert below, paramedics are featured doing only half the job – with what Nested describes as “hilarious results”. There are two other adverts in the series.
Ben Bailey, head of brand and communications at Nested, said that investing in the advertising campaign “has been a huge step for us at Nested, and we’re excited to see how the ads are received by consumers”.
He said of the adverts: “They aim to highlight our novel and hassle-free approach to an archaic and fragmented industry.”
Nested’s model is to market vendors’ homes and, if they don’t sell, lend the funds so that the seller’s next home can be bought. Currently, it only covers London although does have ambitions to roll out elsewhere. It launched in 2018 and went on to raise £200m in funding rounds.
Nested? …….Yes, they should be! Far, far away.

This piece is not meant for us agents. I strongly suspect it is there to try to convince any poor sole who has invested in their business. There are advisors who suggest that when in trouble it is a good idea to come out fighting. It will be interesting to see if they are still around in 12 months.

with what Nested describes as “hilarious results”.
So they have already broken the first rule – believing their own propaganda.

Who would want to sell with this crowd knowing that if a buyer comes along they are going to screw you on the price?

So, Mr Barnaby-Smythe, I’m sorry we haven’t sold your home ’cause, not being on the high st n’all, you can’t expect me to know the value of EVERY property in my little 90 square mile territory now, can you?
Instead, let me offer you the equivalent of the world’s biggest pay-day loan so you can buy 33 Acacia Avenue anyway…….oh……hold on….that’s on with me too….excellent! Cheque please!

Google ‘Nested Estate Agents’ and the first listing is a paid-for ad directly above their entry. Got to love Adwords.
According to Rightmove (micro-site, of course), they currently have 83 properties available.

Try Googling “Estate Agents London”… “London Estate Agents” – zilch in the top 100 results. Not even paid-for.
Those Google ads are brilliant, innit!
So, apparently, is Nested’s place in the natural pecking order…
