Online agent eMoov undergoing ‘game changing’ transformation

Russell Quirk has said that his site, eMoov, is undergoing a “game changing” transformation.

Quirk was responding to Eye after a number of agents claimed they had spotted anomalies on his site, with some taking to Twitter.

One agent sent Eye a screenshot from eMoov of a property displayed as being for sale apparently earlier this month but which the agent said had completed in May 2012.

Other agents claimed they had found other examples.

But Quirk told Eye: “We’re in the middle of a huge piece of technical work on our website and inevitably this is likely to give rise to anomalies here and there whilst this huge transition takes place.

“I believe our tech team have addressed the particular aspect that you refer to, however.

“I must say how very grateful I am to the growing number of our traditional estate agency friends who thankfully, with increasing time on their hands, are able to assist us with checking the site daily so that it just gets better and better.

“Once I retire, I look forward to being able to spend my days flicking through their websites for any issues that I can find and that I hope may assist them in return.”

Quirk declined to go into detail on the technical work taking place, but described it as “game changing”.

At the weekend, eMoov was listing 1,511 properties in the UK.

Good idea, Jonnie.  (At least he replaced the dreaded “disrupt” word with “game changing”.)

Spoilsport Jonnie, I was looking forward to seeing the suggestions as to what he might be changing his game to.; Personally my suggestion was going to be; Haven’t a CLUEDO.

Game changing? he really does remind me of Alan B’stard all running around, shouting at everyone, scheming, plotting, conjuring a plan……but not really changing much, actions speak louder than words do they not?

I continue to be astonished at the very childish comments that Mr Quirk fires at high st agents and remain convinced it is because he wishes he still had his own high street agency bearing in mind e moov is not performing any where near the levels it should be at present.

Not his fault though Wilko, He is not allowed on OTM so restricts his trade apparently CMA are looking into it 😉

Good point, I think he can see the writing on the wall (and always could) with regard to otm ie.

Launch of OTM = demise of Zoopla. Followed (a year or 2 later with high street agents coming off RM)

Without Z or RM being looked at ……emoove and alike are finished.

I’m sure he wishes he still had Quirk Deakin as it would be making an awful lot of money as the market is so good at the moment.

Stephenjury = less then impressive result for emoove, desperate rebranding and more plea for money ……… Worried will he still have a position in 2016

This guy cracks me up, i WANT MORE RUSSELL QUIRK!

In my opinion has no idea what he is doing, is a really poor manipulator of people, and always needs to have a view when the best thing he can do is keep his mouth shut.

How many more rounds of fundraising can he do until investors see through this poor offering?

LOL…. No problem Quirk.  I have all the time in the world because I know what I am do whilst making  massive profits.   Plus business is up.

Your announcement sounds more like “please leave me alone and stop telling me about the holes in my boat”

Nevertheless what a load of Bull when you say”  inevitably this is likely to give rise to anomalies here and there whilst this huge transition takes place.”

Fake listings is either deliberate or your behalf or  you have a bunch of monkeys working in your technical area.

    Lets vote which is it.

    a) Deliberate and fake listings providing incorrect information

    b) you employ a team of monkeys in your technical area

    c) you are the monkey in you technical area

    d) none of the above

    e) all of the above.

Hello Mr Quirk, I genuinely do have too much time on my hands, I already retired.  I can honestly say  the first 3 months were great after that Beelzebub found me stuff to do.  Ironically just like this!
I have been on at these folk not to point out failings with  any of their competition, not just you.  It is the cheapest  and most targeted  consultancy a business like yours will ever get. Instead of Agents  telling you what you are doing wrong it would be my suggestion that they (Agents)  investigate the legality  and  ethics  of firms like Zoopla combining the data available from Land registry and data supplied  by them (your  competitors) to provide you with the  means to remain in business; the online valuation tools that a firm like yours  has to be reliant on.
Without tools like Zoopla and the soon to be released Rightmove version and the  comparables data made available by OTM your  company does not stand a chance of providing accurate and meaningful advice on value. No idea= no business
You are right, by sniping at you Agents are helping you, instead of that they ought to be pointing out  that  making  valuation information  available to you they ( Zoopla/ Rightmove/ OTM) are damaging their  ( Agents) business by facilitating increased competition and pressure on fees.

Few things eMoov may want to consider as part of the game changer update..

    1. The Total Fees Saved data cannot be proven so best to remove that before someone complains to the likes of the ASA – I understand where you are coming from on this but you cannot prove these figures so get shot!

    2. Have a read of the The Energy Performance of Buildings (England and Wales) Regulations 2012

Just to point out respectfully to the deceitful Mr Quirk. He had 1,400 approx properties listed on RM / Z and 3100 approx on his own site, the higher amount predominantly marked as sold STC….I wonder why?!?

IMHO, this was no accident. I’m just waiting for his next retention / sales / success rate stats…a 1700 approx loss of stock has got to dramatically affect those “Quirk-esque Claims”.

Screenshots before and after have been taken.

Also, pop onto eMoov now. Search in your home town. Does he return 1500 homes for sale in “X” town? I would suggest each of us email him, explaining we thinks this breaches ASA guidelines. Then when the inevitable barrage of berating emails follow, report him to ASA.
