Now easyProperty announces ‘partnership’ with Rightmove

easyProperty has now announced a “partnership” with Rightmove after making a similar announcement about Zoopla last week.

Saying that it has struck “a deal” with Rightmove, it says that all of its properties will go live on the portal from next Monday.

Robert Ellice, founder of easyProperty which has a 20-year arrangement to license the ‘easy’ brand, said: “Rightmove is the largest property portal site in the UK. This partnership is a crucial step for us.”

Announcement of the Zoopla deal led to some lively exchanges on this site, with agents querying whether the “partnership” was anything other than a routine subscription.

Landlords – easyProperty is launching with its initial focus entirely on the lettings sector – will pay £9.99 per property per week to list on Rightmove and Zoopla.

Enhanced listings on both will also be available at £34.99 per week, or £99 for two months.

Amazing partnership, the word 'deal' is interesting, did RM do a reduced fee or something? Surely any agent can list on RM, or partner with them I mean 🙂

I've just partnered with Tesco, with my home insurance.

YES…in this case they would have done a DEAL. Rightmove are keen to work with other well known names. I have been suggesting that people try and re negotiate with RM if they are planning on leaving one of the portals at the end of the year. I got our branch fees down by a significant amount. They tend to be more "bullyish" with the 1 and 2 branch companies with regard to fees.

I would have thought that 2 publicly listed businesses would have issued an announcement to shareholders had a 'partnership' been forged. I seems the use of that word makes them appear much bigger.

By Gold everyone, the end of the world is nigh!

All I can think of to say is ; And?

Agents Mutual unveil their logo and get over 6000 story views and 240+ posts. It is a bit rich to even think that this matters. Never mind to add some news to the story; out walking the dog this morning I noticed a second flowering of the June roses and still no mushrooms.

I may be wrong but again isn't this just a route for private listings to go onto the portals albeit via a middle man that takes a cut?

hi @wilson no its not we are an online letting agency that will offer everything a landlord needs to attract tenants and much more besides, from hosted viewings to insurance from referencing to inventory.

You will offer what YOU think a landlord needs to attract a buyer not that should be offered, or the service levels offered by some others….come on…private listings with you as a middle man…agreed!

@wilko sorry to disappoint you, landlords we have spoken to [ in their thousands ] actually like what we have to offer and I am sure once our full service is up and running more will come and try us out.

You've spoke to thousands of landlords!?!….funny I seem to remember you correcting that statement when someone questioned how you had thousand of landlords the other week you said we have Landlords with "thousands of properties"…..making it up as we go are we??!

          2. wilko

I admire your optimism but you seem to be very much a "say er" rather than a "do er" Please let me know how one gets to speak to 1,000s of landlords…..how many 1,0oos ??? This means that if you are offering 1000s of landlords (you have spoken to) exactly the service they want then on your launch you should have these straight on your books. You have already said that easyprop are going to make "moving home easier" but failed to say how you are going to do that stating you have a "secret" business plan that will make moving easier!!! Now you quote that you have 1000's of landlords on board that will use you!!! PLEASE substantiate your claims to save just a little of your already poor credibility. On second thoughts, carry on as you are…..professional letting agents can use use your quotes here to show up your true credentials….those of someone who makes figures up …now there is a word, nay 2 word expression for that!

            Report
          3. easyProperty.com

@realagent I was correcting a figure that said we had 10,000 properties ready to list, fact is we have signed up landlords with portfolios of over 10,000 properties, this still runs into the thousands,so not making it up , just being consistent and factual.

I really think that the 2 portals should stop clients using the word "partnership" as it is both inaccurate and mis leading for the customers. Advertising alliance or such would be fairer and more accurate.

Last week I mentioned an agent who gave up her Offices, is now purely online and doing rather well for herself, her clients and the local area in general.

It is too easy to make generalisations between Passive Intermediary (portal facilitators), call centre budget Agency and no office Agency. It is very important to start to recognise that Professionalism isn't the exclusive right of big and well established companies and it isn't restricted to those who sell at prices well above the national average or properties that justify owning a ride on Lawn Mower.

Easybloke has spoken to thousands of landlord, has he ? What complete tosh. I've been in the lettings business for 12 years and I can probably justifiably make that claim. If he continues making nonsense claims like this he will soon lose credibility – that is of course if he had much of it to start with (what a joke that 'draft' website is) :o)

We are a startup,we have to start somewhere and build from there, our current start point is talking to thousands [ yes I said it again] of landlords of all shapes and sizes across the country and they ,in their 1000's have expressed an interest to the point they have supplied their details to us. Earlier today you were stating 10,000 properties were ready to go on the market" ……Now you are saying that landlords in their 1,000s have expressed an interest and registered for information from your company !!!!! Which is it??? If they have registered an interest then have you actually spoken with them,….a meaningful discussion? or a bounce back e mail…I'm off to register with shower as a potential landlord…..not expecting a call back any time soon as there will be 1000s above me in the queue!!!

"Or we could offer landlords market leading prices from a raft of bluechip partners promoted nationally…mmmm"…I appreciate that you want to offer some USP's to your offering, but in truth you don't need to re invent the wheel here. In general landlords just want a knowledgable and locally based agent to offer a stress free service whilst at the same time ensuring that they are covered fully from a legal perspective. I await the full details of your offering before commenting further.

I don't believe they have any landlords signed up / pre-registered / whatever they want to call it. If that were true why would their website have a pop-up which states: "While we're getting ready for take-off, we're opening up a pilot site to a few selected landlords. If you're interested in being one – and listing property with us for free – click any of the List Your Property buttons"

I totally agree…there is no evidence whatsoever….the reply is "just because you can't see evidence doesn't mean it's not true"…really …what a way to do business sounds like a 7 year old telling tall stories in the playground and when his mates don't believe him he just says "it is true, honest"!!!! Absolutely ridiculous.

Another easyProperty bashing it seems. Well I think fair play to them, they have managed to do what Rightmove and Zoopla claimed they wouldn't allow and that's listing properties from a budget agent. Maximum respect for getting that done Chris. All the haters are just angry because had they been "budget" RM & Z would not touch them with a bargepole. To me their anger is better pointed at RM & Z and not you and your model.

@portal person; You really haven't got a clue about how agency works. You prove that time and time again with your comments about the industry and how it works. I think you would be better posting on a tech / wesite forum rather than showing yourself up on this forum. I have never doubted your website knowledge but please don't post about the industry as you know little or nothing about it really……and that is what this site is for "Property Industry Eye"
