Nigel Farage

Reform UK leader Nigel Farage has come under scrutiny over his parliamentary register of interests after it emerged he has declared two of the five properties he is reported to own with his partner, Laure Ferrari.

According to reports, the couple own properties in Surrey, Kent and Essex with a combined estimated value of more than £4 million. The portfolio is said to include a former marital home in Kent, two beachfront properties on the Kent coast, a five-bedroom home in Surrey and a property in Clacton.

Farage has registered the Surrey home and one of the Kent properties on his parliamentary register of interests. The remaining three properties do not appear on the register.

A spokesperson for Farage said the former marital home had not been declared because it is occupied by a close family member and MPs are not required to register properties in those circumstances.

The spokesperson added that one of the Kent properties is owned by Farage’s company, Thorn in the Side Ltd, which is already listed on the register of interests, while the Clacton property is wholly owned by Ferrari.

The spokesperson said Farage had consulted the parliamentary authorities about his declarations and had been advised that they complied with the relevant rules.

The existence of the property portfolio was first reported by The Times.
