New zero-fee estate agency franchise network launches

A new mobile-based estate agency franchise network has been launched, offering agents zero fees to sign up to the group, but they will be required to agree to a commission split.

The new brand, called gLocalAgent, is offering agents signing up to its ‘employed mobile or hub-based agency’ access to in-house developed property portal listing software and a CRM powered by the network.

Inhouse social media and marketing teams will assist agents with their marketing campaigns and lead generation.

Agents signing up to gLocalAgent will be able to set their own fees and keep up to 70% of their commission.

gLocalAgent said in a statement: “This is an excellent opportunity for the existing hub/home based agents. Starting a high street or home/hub based estate agency isn’t easy, it involves lot’s of compliances, investment, time and energy.

“With gLocalAgent, there is nothing stopping the agents now who wanted to start their own realtor business but were in a limbo about market, risks, and investment involved with it.”

  1. Another Agent

Yet another ‘self employed’ model, this one from 99Homes Ltd hits an already crowded market, offering the allure of ‘working your way’ and ‘uncapped earnings’, but with a twist….’zero investment’! This effectively means that ‘would be’ and ‘wanna be’ agents have ZERO incentive to get off their **** as there is zero risk. Zero investment promotes a ‘whatever’ attitude, not a ‘must make this work’ attitude and history shows there is no such thing as a free lunch. Not sure how it’s supposed to be pronounced; ‘G’ Local or ‘Glocal’ (like something stuck in ones throat). Having researched, reviewed and monitored the majority of the existing models/outfits, I think they will struggle as there are a few outfits that already have an established presence and an attractive offering for those who are driven to succeed. I watch with interest.
