Estate agents are being offered a new way to generate additional revenue from their existing sales pipelines following the launch of a homebuyer utility service.
One Utility Bill has moved into the residential sales market with Homebuyer by One Utility Bill.
The platform pays agents £30 for completed sales where buyers have been referred to the service.
It will initially operate through an integration with Street.co.uk, allowing agents to make referrals through their existing CRM workflow.
The model is designed to generate additional income from transactions without adding significant administration for agency teams.
Once referred, buyers receive information about the property they are purchasing.
This includes its EPC rating, existing utility suppliers and information about likely household utility costs.
Buyers can also receive support arranging energy, broadband, TV and water services ahead of moving into their new home.
The property and utility information remains available whether or not the buyer ultimately purchases a One Utility Bill package.
For agents, the main commercial proposition is the ability to generate revenue after securing a sale.
An agency completing 100 qualifying sales could potentially generate £3,000 in additional commission, assuming every buyer was successfully referred and qualified for payment.
The launch marks an expansion for One Utility Bill beyond its existing operations and into the residential sales market.
The company said the service aims to address the period between agreeing a purchase and moving into the property, when buyers need to arrange household services and assess their future running costs.
The Street.co.uk integration means participating agents can make referrals without moving between separate systems.
For estate agencies, the launch adds another potential ancillary income stream alongside established services such as mortgages, conveyancing and insurance.
Shay Jones, director of growth & sales at One Utility Bill, said: “We already have a strong track record of helping letting agents streamline move-ins through our Notify platform, and we wanted to expand that same level of service to estate agents.”
“We created Homebuyer to bring our utility solutions to the sales market, giving agents a simple, zero-admin way to support their buyers beyond completion as well as introduce them to a new referral model that can help them generate additional revenue from their existing sales pipelines,” Jones added.
