New guidance for tenants and landlords on repairs responsibilities

New guidance has been published online to help tenants and landlords address their own responsibilities when it comes to DIY tasks and maintenance.

Insurance firm Endsleigh has put the new guidance on its ‘better relations hub’ which it launched after research last winter among 1,428 tenants and 1,217 landlords.

The research showed that the top frustration for tenants was landlords not fixing things quickly enough, followed by the landlord not being easily contactable or responsive, and making cheap, quick-fix repairs.

The top frustration for landlords was tenants who damaged the property, followed by tenants not informing them about problems or damage, and not completing the check-out to a high standard.
