New free conveyancing portal will give agents access to conveyancing chains

A new portal will give estate agents free and real-time access to the status of conveyancing chains.

Free2Convey has begun the roll-out of its integration with law firms’ case management systems (CMSs) in a move which it says is set to revolutionise conveyancing transactions England and Wales.

Free2Convey’s portal will enable all parties in a conveyancing transaction to see, for the first time, full view of their chain from instruction to post-completion – something which is critical for estate agents looking to provide clients with information from the early stages of a transaction.

Free2Convey’s research, which was carried out among stakeholders including estate agents, revealed that current conveyancing practices using CMSs, which do not “talk to each other” often results in a lack of information for agents, meaning they are unable to provide their clients with the level of information often required.

Matt Lancaster, sales and marketing director and one of the founding partners of Free2Convey, said: “Our research confirmed that the conveyancing market has been crying out for this level of efficiency and communication for years.

“The estate agents we spoke to were really positive about having access to conveyancing chain information, especially via an app, as they’re often working away from the office.

“By engaging with Free2Convey everyone in the conveyancing process benefits, as they are all pulling in the same direction, with real time transparency of information and at no cost.”

Lancaster said that Free2Convey had been developed and tested over the past 18 months, to ensure that everything runs seamlessly in an easy to understand format for all those involved .

“We’re now in a position where our live product and app for estate agents are available to use with various options for integrating with a law firm’s case management software and its current business processes.

“In the next few weeks we’ll be adding further functionality meaning that law firms using Free2Convey can securely exchange documents and information with others in the conveyancing chain, including estate agents and clients.

“We have seen phenomenal interest from law firms and estate agents of all sizes wishing to use Free2Convey and we’re looking forward to a busy year working with those firms as the system rolls out across the UK,” Lancaster added.
