A comparison site, Choose My Agent, has officially launched.
Based in Manchester, the plan is to roll it out nationwide.
It is the brainchild of Sean Quinlan, 27.
The local press reports that with help from school friend – and now, full-time finance director – Sam Hinchliffe, Quinlan gained backing and has grown the company to a staff of ten.
By using different criteria such as the address, number of bedrooms and estimated value of a property to help vendors find the best estate agents for them in the area, free of charge.
Quinlan said: “We then rank these agents on performance metrics, such as how many houses sold, sold price versus asking price and how many days it takes them to sell. We then recommend three agents per vendor.
“From there we take an advisory role. We have a team of staff with estate agency experience who work with the vendor to help them through their journey.”
It charges agents who are offered the opportunity to do a valuation £15.
Once the three estate agents have been chosen, the vendor can use the site’s portal review service to get more information about the prospective agency wishing to handle the sale of their home.
Quinlan said : “In our portal, the vendor can see the three people who are coming to value the house. They will be able to see a photograph, a brief description about them and three reviews from reputable sources.
“It helps to give the vendor a little bit more of a feel for who they could potentially be the person selling their home. It’s that face to a name which is really important.”
Quinlan added: “We want to start in Manchester then move into other areas across the UK over the next six to 12 months.
“We want to use Manchester as the platform and after two to three years we would want to be in London, which will be the last place after the north and the midlands, as it is the most difficult market to penetrate.”

I note from Mr Quinlan’s LinkedIn page he’s a qualified accountant.
The above story is enough to confirm he’s a nACA.

I wonder if he is the same Sean Quinlan who resigned from a company called Choose My Agent Ltd that was dissolved on 1st September 2015, and director of a financial services company also dissolved?! I’m sure this unique company and idea will change the way we operate and all agents need to start sending him their £15…fast!!!

THAT company (nothing whatsoever to do with the new one, of course…) was ‘Gazetted’ on 19/5/15, by which time Mr Quinlan was well out of the door.
Gor blimey! – you’d never believe it, but that is exactly the same date that his new company was incorporated.
It’s a funny old world, innit…

Goodness me, more portal juggling will take place due to sites like this – to falsify figures to enhance their “rating”.
Can’t people just make their own minds up on which agent to use, based upon good old fashioned traditions – TALKING TO PEOPLE!
