Miles & Barr Group continues expansion with fresh acquisitions

Miles & Barr Group has expanded its lettings and management divisions by acquiring two well-established firms, Roger & Hambidge and Brettsletts.

The acquisitions mean Miles & Barr Group has entered for the first time both the mid-Kent property management and block management markets.

The integration of Roger & Hambidge and Brettsletts marks a decisive moment in the company’s future growth plans as it actively expands its lettings portfolio.

Simon Thompson, lettings group director at Miles & Barr Group, commented: “The purchase of Roger & Hambidge is an exciting venture for us because it has 150 years of block management know-how and it is this knowledge that adds a complementary and exciting specialism to Miles & Barr’s proposition.”

Roger & Hambidge, located in Westgate-on-Sea, is a well-established independent block management business.

Roger & Hambidge’s former owners, Jo and Paul King, will continue to contribute to the business on a consultancy basis. Miles & Barr’s block management services will focus on the management of residential blocks providing a variety of specialised services on behalf of freeholders and the lessees.

The acquisition of Bretstletts, a boutique lettings agency started by a husband and wife duo, will add further managed properties to Miles & Barr’s extensive portfolio. Brettsletts’ founding partners will also provide continuing consultancy services while the company transitions to Miles & Barr Lettings. The addition of Roger & Hambidge and Brettsletts follows the acquisition of Advanced Lettings in 2020.

Thompson added: “Growth of our established property management division is also a high-priority for us over the coming years. We have a strong foothold across East Kent, so we decided to look to a new region within the county and the purchase of Brettsletts provided an unmissable chance to establish our presence in and around Tunbridge Wells. Both acquisitions create a business first for Miles & Barr and we are excited to see them contribute to the steady and ambitious expansion of the company.”
