Landlords are starting to digest the prospect of Brexit and just over a third (35%) think leaving the EU will have a negative impact on their ability to attract tenants.
A poll of 777 members by the National Landlords Association, as part of its quarterly landlord panel, assessed the aftermath of Prime Minister Theresa May announcing that that the process of the UK leaving the EU will be triggered by March 2017.
The findings also show that 39% believe that Brexit will have no significant impact on their business, 21% are unsure, while 5% believe it will have a positive impact.
The biggest proportion of nerves are, perhaps unsurprisingly, in London where 55% of landlords in the centre of the city are fearful.
Landlords in the north-east are least concerned with just 22% seeing Brexit as a negative.
