Staff and clients at London agency W.A. Ellis are teaming up to undertake a half-marathon paddle board on the Thames.
The venture has had to get special Port of London Authority approval.
The event will take place on Sunday, September 21, and will be in aid of the Octavia Appeal, which raises funds for the paediatric facilities at the world-famous Brompton Hospital.
Caroline Copland, marketing director at W.A.Ellis, said: “Last year we raised nearly £20k for Action Medical Research, a charity also focused on children, and when the staff chose a cause on our doorstep for this year we decided we’d take to the water and go further than anyone before us to make a difference.
“It’s a new skill set, and we’re loving getting to grips with it in the very limited opportunities we’ve had.”
The event begins at 2pm at Teddington Lock, where the team will paddle down to Chelsea Wharf, finishing at approximately 6pm. A BBQ will see them in, and supporters are welcome.
