Local estate agents are volunteering to help people self-isolating in their homes, for example by delivering food and keeping in touch, as part of a national initiative which involves people dropping postcards through the doors of the elderly and vulnerable.
For example, estate agents in the Land & New Homes Network mobilised this weekend to help in their local communities – help which could become more crucial with the Government yesterday confirming that the over-70s will be asked to self-isolate in their own homes for four months
Land & New Homes Network founder Kevin Ellis said: “We have pushed this initiative out through community Facebook groups over the weekend.
“We have been able to mobilise this really quickly over the weekend.
“Many agents who have engaged with us over the weekend, have embraced this and are keen to provide community support.”
Calls for help will be answered where necessary by agents’ out-of-hours phone answering services.
Below, the message going out this weekend to residents in one town. It uses a template designed for a national initiative thought up by university lecturer Becky Wass
Just to clarify this idea was inspired by Becky Wass a lecturer at Falmouth University. As a business, we provide all of our team with a number of days per annum paid time to volunteer for charities or local community groups that are close to their hearts. We were able to mobilise this quickly over the weekend, utilising Moneypenny who handle our out of hours calls and already in the first 48 hours, we have provided assistance to a number of people self-isolating (not confirmed cases of Covid-19 just people being sensible).
If any agency would like the artwork files to brand themselves, please email marketing@lnhnetwork.co.uk and we will be pleased to provide the artwork.

I was reading the story about Becky Wass on the BBC news website over the weekend and thought that your cards had nicked her initiative so it is kind of you to acknowledge the source of your inspiration. Respect to you.

Great idea. Great inspiration.
Its up to people to be sensible and help each other in the current situation. I dont think the Govt. are going to be in a position to do everything for us… people need to organise themselves. But alas community spirit is often totally lacking in modern times/cities where people dont even know their neighbours well.
Strange for me ….I was born in the South Wales valleys where everyone knows each others business …whether you want them to or not…. but at least people look out for each other (on the whole)…
