Lettings chain Leaders is continuing its growth northwards with the acquisition of two businesses in Mansfield and Nottingham – one being an estate agency.
Leaders has bought PWR Property Consultants LLP and PWR Residential Sales LLP.
The acquisitions brings Leaders, which started with a single branch in Brighton in 1983, to a tally of 92 branches.
Leaders made it clear that it is remains very much on the hunt for more acquisitions.
Almost all of Leaders’ offices now deal in sales, and last month it appointed its first sales director, Kevin Shaw, who has previously worked with firms including Andrews and Spicerhaart.
The latest purchase by the fast-growing firm brings its branch network to a completely new area, filling a geographical gap between its branches in East Anglia and the north-west, where it trades as Jordan’s.
PWR was established in 2004 by Simon and Becky Perkins, who are exiting the business. The pair will now focus on their property investment firm, while Becky will also continue to progress her career as a novelist. She published her well-received first novel ‘Fifteen days of summer’ in March and has a sequel, ‘A summer of secrets’, in the pipeline.
All their staff have joined Leaders.
Becky Perkins said: “Having spent the last 11 years building our business into the best it could be, the decision to sell was not an easy one.
“We wanted to be certain our staff and clients would be well looked after by a company whose business ethos matched our own and which would continue our high standards of service and staff development.”
Leaders’ lettings director Emma Wells, who is overseeing the integration of PWR into Leaders, said: “We are delighted to welcome our new staff. This is a key acquisition for us, giving us two well-established branches in Nottinghamshire which will make an excellent foundation upon which to extend our service in the wider area.”
Last year Leaders secured a £30m financing facility to support its continuing buy-and-build strategy.
