Landlords’ Barometer – #58: Is buy-to-let dead?

Welcome to the latest edition of the Landlords Barometer.

Our new motto for propertytribes.com is “Live your best landlord life” by sharing and being part of the private rented sector community.

Lots going on in the sector, but here’s what got landlords engaged and talking:

1. Video: Mayor Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham’s RLA speech

View the keynote presentation at the RLA conference in Manchester, where Andy Burnham’s claims were a major landlord talking point across social media.

2. Landlords speak out against attacks on the private rental sector

Three landlords share their views on the state of the private rented sector and how they are struggling to accommodate vulnerable tenants with little support from the local authority.

3. Is buy-to-let dead, or am I just late to the party?

This discussion has been trending for over a week now as it’s proved very popular with our community.

4. Pensions vs. Buy-to-Let: which is the winner?

This evergreen question attracted over 60 responses.

5. “Blood up the walls” – the Labour housing video

This video shows the very darkest underbelly of the private rented sector – but was it a fair portrayal?

6. What will the buy-to-let market look like in 10 years’ time?

Polish off your crystal ball and share your views!
