Landlord Fergus Wilson cleared of charges after ’email sent via letting agent’ to tenant

Landlord Fergus Wilson has been acquitted of charges brought against him by Kent police in relation to alleged threats to a tenant.

It had been claimed that in an email sent via his letting agent, he had threatened a family with being shot dead by the Romanian mafia.

At Maidstone Magistrates Court last week, the prosecution offered no evidence.

As a result, all charges were dismissed.

In a statement after the case, Wilson said he voluntary agreed a non-conviction restraining order preventing him from contacting Robert and Carly Wilding for three years.

Wilson said that he told the judge that he was happy to agree as he had never met or spoken to either.

He had been due to stand trial tomorrow.
