The Land Registry recorded an increase in sales registrations in June.
The Land Registry’s Price Paid data showed there were 79,690 sales lodged for registration during June, up 3.2% on May.
It also reverses a trend of transactions increasing and then decreasing in each consecutive month since the start of the year.
Transactions lodged at the Land Registry have now increased for two consecutive months for the first time this year after also increasing during May.
However, the June figure was down 7% annually.
Of the sales registered in June, 387 were for residential properties in England and Wales at £1m or more.
London had the most £1m-plus property sales at 230, while Birmingham, Manchester and Cardiff had one each.
The most expensive residential sale during the month was for a detached property in Kensington & Chelsea, London, for £28.5m.
The cheapest residential sale was a terrace property in County Durham for just £17,250.
The most expensive commercial sale taking place in June 2018 was in the City of London for £71.2m. The cheapest commercial sales in June 2018 were in Waltham Forest, London, and the Isle of Wight for £100.
