We’ve all done it, haven’t we?
Accidentally put a window card in upside down and then wondered why people are adopting strange postures outside our premises.
Same thing happens occasionally on the internet; the odd photo gets rotated.
Usually it gets spotted and corrected pretty quickly, but some instances make you ask if anyone actually checks these things when a new listing is put on.
Here is a fine property near Kings Lynn, on the market with King & Partners.
Easy mistake to make, and it doesn’t look too bad, even upside down. But…
You get the picture(s) and that’s quite enough neck twisting for one day – except that it isn’t the only topsy turvy listing by this agent.
We have heard it said that it’s different world up there in the Fens but this is proof positive.
It’s either that, or King & Partners has taken on an Australian neg. (We apologise for that pathetic, stereotypical ‘joke’. It’s been a long week…)
Accidentally? Heck, no – always did it totally on purpose!**
Okay – I’ll admit to more than an occasional t!tter watching people try to replicate a tawny owl’s neck gymnastics trying to make sense of the window card – but they were never the targets of the ‘plan’.
Those that stood… studied… then came in the door with the purpose of telling me my ‘mistake’ – they were the ones I’d hooked! Conversations were entered into – selling opportunities had been created that may otherwise have passed by.
Same with the images. Try doing a window card in mono – stands out like a giraffe hiding behind a postbox. (I would have said a news advert – but apparently no-one does them these days… insert rolling-eye emoji here)
All part of what made the job fun.
**In fairness, the first time I did it, I will admit to it being a mistake. But all the times that followed (and there have been quite a few…) were all 100% premeditated – and on more than one occasion because the homeowner asked me to do it!

They “Just added” another ‘upsy-downsy’ listing to Zoopla yesterday – that’s five now on their listings register.
Two of them have been listed since December last year!
Not surprisingly, their own website shows the images the right way up, as does Rightmove – so this appears to be an issue with Zoopla’s datafeed. You would think they would have had it dealt with before now.
Whilst it’s got them their 15 minutes of fame here on EYE, it’s only clever marketing when it’s intentional and controlled.
This, I would suggest is clearly just a chuff-up which highlights their inattention to detail, and should cost them the listings – which might just wake them up to reality.
