A leading agency figure who has survived cancer three times has been recognised with a special award for his outstanding charitable achievements.
Andrew Scott, a founder of Lane Fox and formerly head of London residential at Strutt & Parker until his recent retirement, led a team to raise £250,000 for Cancer Research.
This was through the Three Peaks Challenge, a triathlon, the London Marathon and 5,000 miles in bike challenges.
The inspirational Scott, who began his career in estate agency in 1982, was given the special charity recognition at the inaugural London Magazine Club property industry awards.
He is not letting up on his efforts and is due to run the London Marathon again next year – albeit with only one lung.
Other winners included Antoine Lurot, who scooped the lifetime achievement award.
Lurot, who founded Lurot Brand, was the first to use price per square foot to value residential property and to create floorplans for all his instructions. He also helped found Central London Estate Agents.
Media star award went to Peter Wetherell, who has made the name of his agency, Wetherell, synonymous with the Mayfair market.
Chestertons won the ‘giving back to London’ award for their support of homeless charity St Mungo’s – which includes staff volunteering.
Marsh & Parsons won the award for best advertising campaign, and Jackson-Stops won the innovation award for its new marketing tool, Reach.
The London Magazine is London’s prime property magazine, going to 70,000 of London’s most affluent households. The London Magazine Club is a forum for Central London Estate Agents.
Lurot…an award for putting floor plans on details and to be the first to use £psf haha. He should be sent to the Tower for introducing a method by which so many sellers now justify their inflated view on asking price…’because they all sell for this in my location’
