Independent estate agency opens fourth office in four years

Oakheart Property is celebrating after opening its latest branch sinch launching the business in 2020.

The estate agency’s newest office is located in St John’s Street, Bury St Edmunds – the Essex-based firm’s fourth location overall and its second in Suffolk.

Oakheart Property, founded in 2020 by Dan Keen, Darrell Nevard and Daniel Mitchell, has existing offices in Sudbury, Colchester and Mersea.

Keen said: “Opening in Bury was a natural progression for us after doing so well so quickly in Sudbury.

“What we noticed at our Sudbury office was a large number of people coming to the town from Bury and vice-versa. Our brand signifies quality, good housing and that country lifestyle.

“There’s a real mix here and Bury is such an amazing up-and-coming town – with properties ranging from multi-million pound barns to small flats – and we need to accommodate that.

“I absolutely have to take my hat off to the people of Bury and St John’s Street. We toiled over where we would put the shop and we felt we’d fit in with all the independent shops here – and everyone has made us feel so welcome.

“We’ve also been far busier than we expected.”

Keen added: “A key focus of ours is to represent great people that are proud of their houses and want agents who have that same enthusiasm.

“There is a level of sleepiness in the property market in Bury that we’d really like to shake up. But I think our main priority is to become big market players.”
