Housing charity launches its own estate agency

A housing charity has launched its own estate agency.

Set up by housing association Two Rivers Housing Group in Gloucester, the agency is called TwoCan and will offer sales and lettings on a commercial basis.

All of its profits will go to to support the work of the association, which has 4,000 homes.

Two Rivers says the agency will “generate fresh sources of income to replace reduced government funds”.

However, there will be no immediate profits: in true Foxtons style, TwoCan is taking on the first 20 homes signed up for either sale or let on a ‘no fee’ basis.

TwoCan will also adhere to a commitment to ‘green’ working practices through digital solutions, low emissions vehicles, flexible and agile working practices to reduce the miles travelled by staff, and there will be no high street presence.

TwoCan’s team has a combined 70 years’ experience in estate agency.

Branch manager is Simon Cawley, with negotiators Danielle O’Brien and Andrew Heard.

The agent is currently listing four available properties on Rightmove, all added within the last few days.

Hmmm… interesting.  Loss-leader – or plain, simple loss?

How can a charity be allowed to be giving away money like this?

I’m sorry – but this seems to be the most ridiculous use of the ‘Dislike’ button yet!

A “charity” spends who knows how much money on marketing fees for TWENTY homeowners without being able to charge them ONE PENNY – and you seemingly don’t think that is an issue?

How’s about you either grow a set or put the existing ones to some form of misguided use and actually DEBATE the point?
