Houser removes agents’ listings after uproar

We understand that Houser has been removing agents’ properties from its site.

However, for those agents who would like their properties removed, Houser has introduced a facility at the link below.

Eye must issue a warning, though: when we visited the site to check out the link, a strange robotic voice starts up with a property advertisement.

It is very peculiar.

The link is here

However, perhaps even odder is that the Houser website is now showing via this link at the bottom of the page on NeedaProperty.

We haven’t had answers to our queries, but can anyone shed light?

Talking to Scott to see what could be done in his hour of need it was apparent he was being given a 'Stiffun' I would guess that with Needaproperty having a subscriber base of Agents who wanted to be on Needaproperty and happy to pay a subscription (that is more than Houser had) Needaproperty was a good and solid base for a new venture and was available to anyone in a position to act quickly. It doesn't surprise me that someone hight have benefitted from the collapse of Needaproperty and why those leasing the Tech to Scott would do a deal with anyone interested.

After we emailed Houser threatening to write to their website host, Rackspace, as suggested a few days ago, they very politely confirmed they were removing our (unauthorised) properties from their site.

Why does PropertyEye write nothing but negative about Houser? If they have indeed bought needaproperty good on them – that puts them on top of Agents Mutual straight away if they are able to retain the agent base.

Whats positive to say? a portal that steals instructions, sells the data it does not own and then refuses to take properties off unless you sign a disclaimer saying you are damaging your vendors chances of selling. Cant think why agents are upset at all!

Perhaps instead of asking this question you should instead explain why you believe this publication – ANY publication, for that matter – should be writing positive things about the Houser website. And while you are on – perhaps you should also volunteer some information as to what personal or professional interest you have in the subject site and why you seem so fixated that it isn't being embraced with open arms – in the spirit of 'transparency' and all that…

Taken from NeedaProperty's website privacy policy. "Need a Property.com is powered and owned by Houser.co.uk and Houser.co.uk took its first baby step on January 12, 2015, and just like any other newborn, it will learn to crawl, walk and then run; but Houser is trained from day one to lead."

They certainly don't need to learn how to crawl! they already scrape my site.

Well on needaproperty our stock appears not under our own brand but under the identity of a former agent in the area – trying to get it removed is proving somewhat difficult.

Just checked the houser website which seems to have all but given up the ghost. However, some of our properties have now made an appearance on needaproperty – so I guess that's their answer and a licence to continue scraping everybody's instructions. How cynical can you get ? Anyone know needaproperty's website host ? Not Rackspace is it ? And to answer one of today's posters – this is precisely why some of us have had a pop at houser and their parasitic ilk !

Well the good news late afternoon yesterday was that the agent and property search on NAP revealed, well nothing. Some agent logos were still on there, but no listings for anyone. It's now 1.43am on Wednesday – just checked, they're chuffin' back!

Thanks ammik for NAP's website host info. Don't understand how no listings came up on your search yet 12 hours earlier and I found our properties. Mystery 😉
