House prices drifted down 0.4% in October, the Halifax has reported.
The “seasonally adjusted” average last month was £186,135.
It slowed annual house price inflation to 8.8%, from 9.6% in September.
According to Halifax, annual house price inflation reached a peak of 10.2% in July.
October’s dip in prices was the fifth monthly decline reported by Halifax in the past year.
Just waiting for Nationwide to contradict the figures – as always.
