Clive Emson Auctioneers is expanding, with a new office to hold auctions of land and properties in Essex and north and east London.
The 25-year-old firm, which features on the hit TV show Homes under the Hammer, is holding its inaugural auction for the region in Chelmsford on Tuesday, March 24.
Auctioneer Paul Bridgemen, who is also president of the National Assocication of Auctioneers and Valuers, said: “The popularity of such programmes as Homes under the Hammer have brought auctions into people’s front rooms and mean that they are no longer seen as a last resort.
“People enjoy coming to auctions.
“They do their homework and are not afraid to bid, so we achieve some very good prices for sellers but also offer the opportunity for buyers to find a competitively priced property too.”
Managing director James Emson said: “It was a natural progression to build on our reputation across the south and expand into Essex and London.
“We work with local estate agents and don’t compete with them. Local agents often help us arrange viewings of properties.
“The model has worked very successfully for many years in the area we cover in the south from Kent to Cornwall, and we’re sure that will continue in Essex and north and east London.
Clive Emson Auctioneers achieved £125m in sales last year, with an 80% success rate.
