Former estate agency returns to selling property

Anderson & Garland, first established in 1840 as ‘estate agents, valuers and auctioneers’, has announced that it will return to selling land and property.

The North-East based auction firm has over the years introduced a number of successful specialist fields to their business, which ultimately reduced their focus on providing property services.

However, with the appointment of experienced estate agent Gareth Jones as a director, the company is relaunching its land and property auctions wing – duly named ‘A&G Land and Property Auctions’.

Jones has worked in the property industry over two decades, during which time he has established two property firms, County Homes and Red Hot Property, which he sold in 2019.

Jones has since worked through the pandemic with Anderson & Garland to develop an in-house platform which will assist both vendors and estate agents who require to sell their property by auction or within a specific deadline.

Gareth said: “Anderson & Garland have a fantastic, long-established reputation and are top-class auctioneers. I am very excited to work alongside my co-directors Julian and Fred, to provide an unrivalled platform for both agents and vendors to benefit from.

“Our services provide the perfect solution for those who are seeking an accelerated sale. We have extensive resources to support our clients and I welcome assisting anyone who is considering a property auction, either for themselves or as an agent on behalf of their client, and would be delighted to discuss how we can help generate the desired interest and greater speed in the sale process.”

Co-director, Julian Thomson stated: “We are extremely proud of our heritage at Anderson & Garland and are very excited to open back with A&G into a market that is part of that heritage and history. We are delighted to have Gareth’s experience in this field and we very much look forward to working alongside him in helping many clients successfully secure a sale for their home by auction.”

Fred Wyrley-Birch, co-director, added: “Both Julian and I have dealt directly with Gareth many times in the past on property matters outside of Anderson & Garland, which gives us huge confidence in both his client focus and abilities. We are a firm with significant history, yet have always remained forward thinking.

“Our three directors combine significant experience in both property matters and auctioneering. With the exciting launch of A&G Land and Property Auctions, we all look forward to our part in laying the next chapter to our firm’s proud history.”
