Well – he’s gone. Sailing that is. Apparently off into the sunset. And for a whole year.

Simon Tyrrell, director of Finders Keepers, appears to have quit.

The high-profile Oxfordshire-based letting agency was acquired by Countrywide last year.

Tyrrell, 50, has been with the extraordinarily successful company since 1998, creating a student letting department in 2005.

Tyrrell who started his career at Tufnells in Belgravia in 1986, previously held posts with Faron Sutaria and Black Horse. His LinkedIn status has now changed to ‘Gone sailing…….back in 2018′.

It is somewhat reminiscent of Robert Bartlett’s announcement in March of his departure from Chestertons, with his give-away “gone skiing” announcement, also on social media.

This morning a Countrywide spokesperson said: “Following his resignation in April, Simon Tyrrell left the business last week. We thank Simon for his contribution to Finders Keepers and wish him well.

“Separately, we are pleased to confirm four promotions to the Finders Keepers senior management team; continuing our tradition of recognising and rewarding strong performers from within the business.

“Paul Rushworth, formerly associate director, is now director, with responsibility for overseeing the four Finders Keepers offices outside Oxford: Abingdon, Banbury, Bicester, and Witney.

“Mark Cairns has been promoted from his role as office manager to associate director and will run the Banbury office, overseeing Witney.

“Douglas Lloyd also moves from office manager to associate director and will continue to run the central Oxford branch, with oversight of our successful FK Student Letting division. Lastly, Emma Croft-Pearson has been promoted to senior office manager and will become the company’s first full time head of property management.

“Paul, Mark, Douglas, and Emma join the existing and longstanding senior management team of Dan Channer, MD; Frank Webster, director; and Maryse Davies, HR director.”
