Hamptons has completed its fundraising initiative ‘Relay around the World’ raising money for Cancer Research UK’s Stand Up To Cancer Campaign.
In October 2020, Hamptons pledged to collectively travel 24,901 miles, the same distance it would take to travel around the world and five months later they have completed the challenge.
As a business, Hamptons travelled over 27,000 miles, exceeding their 24,901 round the world target, and raised almost £5,000 for Cancer Research UK and their Stand Up to Cancer Campaign.
This intensified twist on their annual ‘Relay around the Regions’ added an additional 23,469 miles onto their usual target and in the team’s efforts to go above and beyond they walked, ran, cycled, scooted, rode and even swam in open waters to successfully reach their goal.
Lesley Cairns, Managing Director at Hamptons, said: “We are delighted to announce that as a company, Hamptons has officially completed its ‘Relay around the World’.
“It has been an amazing team effort and has given us a fantastic opportunity to come together with one shared goal: to raise money and awareness for Cancer Research UK.”
“I can’t begin to share how heart-warming it has been to be a part of such an uplifting event through what has been a really difficult time. We’ve seen families out together walking, jogging and cycling all with the aim of attributing miles to our overall target. Above all, the ‘Relay around the World’ has given us an amazing opportunity to unify the business during a time where we have all been kept apart from each other.
“Cancer Research UK is a charity that sits close to our hearts and we will continue to dedicate our time and support and look forward to further fundraisers in the future.”
Thomas Dawson, relationship manager at Cancer Research UK, said: “What an amazing result! Congratulations and our heartfelt thanks to everyone at Hamptons who has taken part in your epic collective journey “Relay round the World” to support Stand Up to Cancer. Every step you have taken, cycled, paddled or swam and every penny you have raised is bringing us closer to our goal of beating cancer.”
