A single-office independent has been named as the Guild Estate Agent of the Year.
Stevens & Co, in Ashford, Kent, triumphed at the Guild of Professional Estate Agents’ceremony at the Millennium Hotel in Grosvenor Square, London, last week.
The firm, run by Andy Stevens, opened in 2005 and has also been successful in the ESTAS.
Richard Combellack, marketing and sales director of the Guild, said: “Our overall winner can be found at the top of search engines with a raft of great Google reviews. Their marketing is consistent and coherent with regular quarterly market updates.
“This industry professionalism is exactly what the Guild represents.”
Marcus Whewell, CEO of the Guild, which has 780 members, said: “The quality of award entries this year is the highest ever, indicating how our organisation is moving forward and assisting its agents to provide a truly unique and exceptionally high-quality service to the public.
“My sincere congratulations go to Stevens & Co who should be very proud of winning this hard-fought and prestigious award.”
The awards process means that agents must pass a compliance check and present a submission. This year, entries came in a variety of different forms, including videos.
The awards dinner followed the Guild’s annual conference, the theme of which was ‘communication in the modern era’.

Congratulations to all the winners but can anyone explain why some areas have just gold categories and others have gold and silver? Makes you wonder how many firms entered???

Well done on the award, just a shame so many awards by so many "Bodies" that nothing really is taken seriously. With a lot of these awards you buy a table for the evening and you are pretty much guaranteed an award of some sort! still pretty sticker in the window!

I personally know Andy and his team – his agency is in my patch and I too used to be an independent owner – now on the 'dark side' lol. Very good agent and worthy winners.
