Last night’s scores are yet to be in – at least, regarding Rightmove’s traffic.
The game was not exciting, producing one goal by Belgium over England. We have yet to know whether this stopped home seekers in their tracks.
But last Sunday’s World Cup game, when England beat Panama 6-1, produced some revealing results via dual-screening devices.
Traffic to Rightmove dipped at the exact minute each of those seven goals was scored.
Commercial director (and football fan) Miles Shipside said: “The nation’s obsession with property and the rise of dual-screening on mobile and tablets can clearly be seen on Rightmove when there is a significant sporting or national event.
“We’ve seen similar traffic patterns in the past when Andy Murray won Wimbledon and more recently there was a dip as the guests arrived for the Royal Wedding in May.
“On Sunday, once the full-time whistle was blown there was time for a quick celebration before Rightmove traffic returned to usual Sunday patterns.”
Meanwhile, the endlessly creative Marsh & Parsons currently has scored this via LinkedIn:
Do tell EYE what you are doing by way of scoring a goal in your World Cup marketing!
