A major fundraising event has raised £16,000 for a trust created in memory of murdered York estate agent Nikki Waterhouse.

Easingwold Golf Club hosted the annual gold day from York-headquartered Hunters Property Group.

The Nikki Waterhouse Trust supports important causes, including York Hospital and Martins House Children’s Hospice.

The golf day raised the money through sponsorship, an auction and awards.

Hunters Group MD, Rob Smith, commented: “Everyone enjoyed the day, so many businesses support us every year and we are very grateful.”

The Nikki Waterhouse Trust was set up in February 2015 in memory of the 32-year-old estate agent who worked for Hunters and was murdered in October 2013.

Hunters adds Nikki loved children, so it felt right to create a trust in her name to help make a difference to their lives.
