Free online event to clarify the new electrical safety regulations for rental properties

As reported in EYE, the recent introduction of the new regulations concerning electrical safety in rented property  sparked confusion when a guidance document from MHCLG was published with seemingly conflicting requirements about implementation dates – only for the document to be amended and then reversed.

In a bid to resolve the still serious confusions around new regulations coming into effect on Wednesday 1 July, regulatory law expert, David Smith will host an urgent and free virtual event this afternoon in partnership with Fixflo.

Many agents and landlords were led to believe, mistakenly, that they did not need to concern themselves with tenancies that started between 1 June and 1 July.

Attendees to today’s virtual event can expect to hear Smith examine the problems with the regulations and how the Electrical Inspection Condition Reports (EICRs) requirements for rented homes in England are changing.

Hundreds of agents have already registered to hear Smith discuss the Electrical Safety Standards in the Private Rented Sector (England) Regulations 2020 and their implications for letting agents and landlords in England.

Agents can still sign up for free on Fixflo’s website.
