Franchisees snap up three businesses so far this year

The owners of a Martin & Co franchise have acquired three new businesses so far this year.

Martin & Co Cardiff, owned by Mike Shrubshall and Henry Mitchell, acquired Martin & Co’s Merthyr Tydfil branch in February, and have now finalised on recent purchases of Cardiff Homes and Cardiff Residential Estates.

Altogether the pair have more than doubled their managed portfolio.

Mitchell joined Martin & Co Cardiff as a negotiator in 2015. Shrubshall promoted him last year to sales and lettings director.

Shrubshall, who has been trading at Martin & Co Cardiff for nearly ten years, said: “I’m very much a believer in promoting from within, training and development, and we have built a young, dynamic team at the Cardiff branch as we continue to grow through acquisitions such as these.

“As well as investing in our staff, we are embracing new technology and procedures. We put the clients’ needs at the heart of everything we do – their property is our business.”

Martin & Co managing director Louise Griffiths said: “Martin & Co Cardiff is a great example of a franchisee investing in the futures of staff, and Mike and Henry will play a huge part in shaping the industry in south Wales.

“I’m delighted to see another two Martin & Co acquisitions cross the finish line and as a business we will continue to invest in this hugely successful strategy going forward.”

This is in sharp contrast to its sister company Ewemove  where there seems to  be no respite in the number of franchisees closing

Bolton North and Stevenage in recent weeks  Birmingham too .

The irony is not lost as the Ewemove Cardiff  franchisee has also recently closed .

Like a Swiss clock as one door opens another one shuts

Or is this a chase of what hard work and determination can create.

I’d rather say well done than pick negatives.

      Congratulations Both!
