Former James Laurence agent goes it alone in the West Midlands

Following 14 years working at James Laurence Sales and Lettings in Birmingham as an associate director, Andy McHugo has set up a new independent agency McHugo Homes.

McHugh, who has worked as an estate agent for almost 20 years, will focus on sales only as a hybrid agent and will focus on the core areas of Harborne, Quinton and Halesowen in the West Midlands.

Already a new member of the Federation of Independ Agents (FIA), McHugh is naturally excited about this new venture.

“A big step, though the reception and well-wishing messages, including from rivals, has genuinely been overwhelming, yet inspiring,” he said. “I have set up remotely, so without front street facing windows.”

He added: Whilst I believe this comes in the hybrid model category, I believe that’s an internal industry phrase that a client may not relate to.

“In simple terms, it’s me selling properties bespoke to a clients’ needs from wherever they need me to do it, ensuring the personal element of the move is at the heart of everything, from tailored property videos through to enjoying every accompanied viewing.

“This gives me the freedom to focus on all the areas I am experienced in, and believe I can deliver in, the core areas being Harborne, Quinton and Halesowen.”
