Financial services firm owned by corporate agency chain bids to woo independents

A financial services business that is owned by corporate chain LSL is launching a new campaign to target independent agents hungry for extra income.

Embrace, part of LSL Property Services whose own estate agency brands include Your Move, Reeds Rains and Marsh & Parsons, says it is offering good earnings potential for agents.

An appointed representative of First Complete, which trades under the PRIMIS brand, Embrace can provide a package to agents wanting either to offer financial services or change their existing provider.

The business, which has a network of over 275 consultants nationally, says that having a financial services offering means that an agent has greater visibility over the mortgage process which can speed up the transaction and lead to quicker completions.

Embrace says that agents will earn commission on every successful mortgage or insurance transaction arranged through Embrace, with no earnings cap in place.

Operations director Simon Cox said: “Embrace has already positioned itself as one of the most successful mortgage brokers in the market today and has helped secure more than 25,000 mortgages and protection products for customers within the LSL group of companies and increasingly for customers of agents outside it.

“Our campaign aims to highlight that Embrace could provide a viable solution for any agent who is looking to maximise their income, and enhance their service offerings, and ultimately ensure a win-win situation is reached for their agency and their customers.”

Mortgage brokers I know are suffering due to the lack of transactions.

They are mainly doing remortgages in order to keep afloat.

Whilst I think every agent should make the most of every revenue stream, there are better options then getting into bed with a competing company. Google independent mortgage brokers in your town and set up an introducer agreement with one.

Spot on – why on earth would any independent want to get into bed with a corporate on any level? And, insult intended, any broker working for a corporate instead of for themselves isn’t going to deliver the goods as effectively as a successful independent one.

Couldn’t agree more GeorgeHammond78 – Corporates are good breeding grounds but after more than two or so years in the industry, you’d have to question any broker still sat in one of their branches beyond this. There are some great brokers in corporate agency, but they are normally in market places that don’t require much skill (everything fits with the top lender!) and therefore, aren’t much more help to an estate agency business than their local Nationwide branch.
