A new app for lettings agents has been launched – by an agent.
Family-run Shefflets in Sheffield has launched Vouch, designed to make referencing tenants quicker and cheaper, while offering agents the chance to earn money from services such as utilities and broadband.
Devised by sisters Jaime Tillyer and Lynsey Gaskell and their husbands Simon and Kevin, Vouch has been successfully used in their own business. It has been launched now ahead of the impending ban on tenancy fees.
Simon Tillyer, director of Vouch, said: “Having spent years building a strong growing agency in the north, we are delighted to bring Vouch to the market.
“We have the experience to know that this will be of real value to agencies across the UK.
“We look forward to seeing other agencies across the UK benefit from using the technology, which we hope can help increase profit margins without the need for customers to bear the brunt of the costs.”
A subscription to Vouch costs £100 per month, regardless of the size of agency, and includes full use of the system and the first 15 tenant checks. Additional applications cost £5 each.
I think more people will do referencing in house when the ban comes in.

Vouch is perfect for such agents. It provides a great framework and price point for in-house referencing with automation built in to do some of the leg work.
