Arun Estates has suffered a potential data breach, forcing it to temporarily take down its internal systems.
It is not yet clear if the estate agency group has been the victim of a cyber-attack. But the need to take down the internal systems yesterday, with no resolution to the technical issues insight, has caused enormous disruption across the network, which also includes Wards, Cubitt & West, Douglas Allen, Pittis, and Mortgage Matters Direct.
It is also not yet clear if customer data has been put at risk. But the necessary security shut-down has left agents with very limited access to client information, which in turn could potentially cause delays to property deals across the businesses’ 90-plus offices.
EYE has approached Arun Estates for further information.
