Ex-Spicerhaart managing partner goes into estate agency recruitment

A former managing partner of Spicerhaart is opening a franchise in estate agency recruitment.

Paul Abel is the latest franchisee of Rayner Personnel, covering Bedfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Gloucestershire, Northamptonshire, Oxfordshire and Wiltshire.

Abel has over 20 years’ experience covering estate agency, lettings, financial services and land and new homes.

He first started working with Rayner Personnel founder Joshua Rayner over ten years ago when he helped build his team at Spicerhaart.

He said: “Rayner Personnel has a sound business model and, having personally experienced the company’s service offering, I am very excited by this opportunity to become part of a winning team.”

After initially embarking on a career as a chef, Abel, who is a CeMAP-qualified mortgage adviser, started out at Countrywide before joining Spicerhaart, where he worked for 11 years, ultimately leading a team of just under 400.

Rayner said: “We are delighted to have a director of Paul’s stature and experience on board. His achievements during a distinguished estate agency career make him ideally placed to understand the qualities clients are looking for and make successful placements that help ambitious property professionals progress their careers.”

Poacher turned gamekeeper. Spicerhaart use Rayners for a lot of their recruitment and keep them very busy due to a big staff turnover. Probably a shrewd move by Abel
