Ex-letting agency director remanded in custody after being charged

A former director of a Suffolk property management firm has appeared in court charged with fraud involving client money of some £68,000.

Roy Jackson ran Suffolk Lettings in Ipswich. The firm closed down in December 2012.

Jackson, 39, appeared before South East Suffolk Magistrates Court in Ipswich on Monday.

He is facing two charges: one of fraud by false representation, and the second of fraud by abuse of position, between November 1, 2011, and January 30, 2013.

Jackson, now of London, was committed by Ipswich magistrates to trial at Ipswich Crown Court where a hearing is due on October 9.

He has been remanded in custody.
