There are 211 fewer estate agents on the high street than in January, according to the Local Data Company.
Estate agents were the third most vanishing type of high street business after pubs (a drop of 692) and electrical retailers (a loss of 223).
Altogether, the number of high street premises lying empty soared in the first half of this year.
Closures increased by nearly 17%, while new openings declined, leaving 4,402 gaps on the high street.
The total is over double the number recorded for a first half period since the Local Data Company started recording the data five years ago.
Happy Monday everyone.

What the report doesnt compare is like for like….i wonder how many less bedroom estate agents there are this year than last. In PBs recent “statement” there was no mention on LPE numbers, so i am guessing that they have lost a few.

Good riddance. The number of high street agents in some places is excessive. I think the nimble hybrid and bedroom agents are the future.

Hybrid in my opinion is the best way forward and in turn start focussing on what the consumer wants, transparency and convenience!
Give your customers options and stop limiting your audiences.
Too many “Onliners” bashing the ‘Traditional’ and vice versa….
