A team from estate agency Parkers Properties is gearing up for an ambitious charity cycling challenge, aiming to raise thousands of pounds for Ronald McDonald House Charities in Oxford.
Branded the “Tour de Parkers,” the initiative will see staff cycle between all 17 branches in the group, spanning Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Hampshire and Gloucestershire – highlighting the scale and reach of the estate agent’s network. The event builds on a successful ride seven years ago that raised nearly £6,000, with this year’s team setting their sights on an even more impressive £10,000 target.
The fundraising effort is being led by West Oxfordshire directors Brendan and Lisa Kay, alongside colleagues from across the business, including group managing director Toby Phillips – underscoring a company-wide commitment to the cause.
Taking place on September 10–11, the 200-mile challenge will include an overnight stop, testing both endurance and teamwork across the Parkers group.
Funds raised will support the Ronald McDonald House at Oxford Children’s Hospital, a vital facility that provides accommodation and support for families with seriously ill children, helping them stay close during treatment.
Lisa Kay said: “Our fundraising seven years ago coincided with the final months of its development.
“A few of us have a personal connection with the children’s hospital and Ronald McDonald House and it fitted with our desire to support a project that is close to us.
“We had no hesitation in deciding to support Ronald McDonald House in Oxford again this time with our fundraising going towards the vital work this charity does for so many local families.”
Brendan Kay added: “We are looking forward to getting back in the saddle later this year to raise money for a hugely worthwhile cause and one which plays such an important role in our local community.
“Supporting local charities and causes is something we are passionate about at Parkers whether it’s fun runs, village fetes, dog shows, ale festivals or junior football teams. Last year, we also made a significant donation to the Promise Dreams charity which helps make dreams come true for children who have a serious, life-limiting or terminal condition or illness.”
