A paramedic is accused of attempting a sex assault on an estate agent while she was showing his house to potential buyers, a misconduct hearing was told.
Dean Mahony, 41, was accused of pinning the woman agent down on his bed only to be disturbed when would-be buyers rang the doorbell.
Mahony allegedly attacked the estate agent, who cannot be named, while they were waiting for a couple to view his home in Bradley Stoke, Bristol.
Case presenter Hannah Eales told the hearing: “The estate agent had attended his property for a viewing. She was alone with him in the property.
“He pushed her into a wall and tried to kiss her. Then he pushed her on to a bed and pinned her down with his legs.
“He then attempted to rape her, only to be stopped by the doorbell ringing and the entrance of the house viewers.”
The Health and Care Professions Council hearing was told Mahony’s bosses in the South Western Ambulance Service learned of the allegations months later when the woman called for an ambulance for a sick colleague.
Eales said: “She told the operator not to send Dean Mahony because he was being investigated for a rape against her.”
Eales also said Mahony had behaved inappropriately towards women at his station in Bradley Stoke, Bristol, by making sexual comments and spreading rumours about sleeping with colleagues.
Mahony denies all four counts of misconduct, which includes allegations of behaving aggressively and swearing at other paramedics.
The case continues.
