Estate agent set to deny forgery, fraud and theft allegations

An estate agent has appeared at Crown Court after being charged with two sets of alleged offences.

The first set of charges against Donald Scott alleges a £300,000 fraud, with five counts of forgery and 11 of fraud.

The second set is made up of fraud and theft allegations, including allegations to do with rent and deposit money.

Scott’s solicitor told the court that he intends to deny all the allegations.

Scott, 62, of Wigton, Cumbria, appeared at Carlisle Crown Court where he was granted unconditional bail.

Scott, who runs Donald Scott Land & Estate Agents in Wigton, is expected to enter pleas at a crown court hearing in January.

A trial date has been set for February 29.
