Estate agent issues apology after TV appearance sparks angry backlash

Estate agent Amanda Lovett, who recent shot to fame after appearing on BBC TV show, The Traitors, has offered an apology for sparking upset with a GB News appearance.

The Welsh estate agent, 54, was hit with a major backlash for appearing on GB News alongside her co-star Kieran Tompsett and posing for a photo with presenters Tatiana Sanchez and Calvin Robinson.

Some viewers expressed their uneasiness at Lovett standing alongside Robinson, who has previously expressed hateful remarks, including that he thinks children being described as transgender is ‘child abuse’ and that gay marriage is not marriage.

Lovett expressed her regret over appearing on the TV programme in a statement posted on Twitter.

“I just need to apologise to my new family,” she wrote. “I am so annoyed with my agent, I had no idea what the news channel was about.

“I’m absolutely disgusted to have sat next to a person that doesn’t believe in diversity, equality and being yourself. This will never happen again.”

Her apology came after many fans berated her for going on GB News while also making an appearance RuPaul’s DragCon UK, an event popular with LGBTQ+ people and allies.

One fan replied to Lovett’s statement writing: “If your agent got you onto GB News you need a new agent, that place is for hard right extremists, Covid deniers and flat earthers.”

Responding, Lovett said: ‘Totally agree with you I have told them. I am not that type of person am so upset and cross ❤️’

No need to apologise for appearing on GB News for crying out loud. Everyone has their opinion, and not everyone agrees with each other. GB tells it how it is and is nowhere near a hard right extremist channel.

What is this trend for apologising all the time? Talk about walking on eggshells, it seems like you cannot say anything without following it up with a statement saying sorry for what you’ve just said, why?

‘alongside Robinson, who has previously expressed hateful remarks, including that he thinks children being described as transgender is ‘child abuse’ and that gay marriage is not marriage.’

Calvin Robinson is a highly intelligent beacon of sanity for the overwhelming majority.
