Estate agent who glassed a stranger no longer at Palmer Snell

The estate agent who escaped jail after smashing a glass into a stranger’s face no longer works for Palmer Snell.

A spokesperson for Palmer Snell, part of Countrywide, said: “Yasmin Thomas is no longer employed by Palmer Snell.”

Yasmin Thomas, 21, was a negotiator in Bournemouth.

She appeared in court earlier this month and was handed a suspended prison sentence – despite it being her 18th conviction for violent offences.

Bournemouth Crown Court heard that Thomas’s employers were aware of the offence and had provided character references which described her as hard working and with a bright future ahead of her.

Following the case, her victim said she had only escaped jail because she was a woman.

Ronnie Lee said: “If it was the other way around and I did that to her, I would be going straight to jail.”

The case also prompted concern on the part of Bournemouth East MP Tobias Ellwood who said he will be asking the Attorney General to review Thomas’s sentence.
