Estate agency uses its window for climate change protest banners after signing up to campaign

An estate agent is using window space for protest placards after signing up to a local environmental campaign.

Hindhead Property, in Plymouth, has already closed on one occasion to allow staff to join in a climate emergency protest.

All this month, the agent will be displaying placards and posters designed by staff members’ children.

Staff member Laura Browne told the local paper: “We have recently signed up to Change Plymouth to help save the planet as a company.

“Our boss closed the office for three hours and we all walked down to take part in the strike. Following the event we collected boards from other people to display in our window and we will keep them there until the end of October to maintain awareness.

“Changes are happening in Plymouth.”

The firm is limiting its use of lights to just four out of the 21 in the office, and is taking other measures.

Browne added: “Even those who deny the climate emergency surely recognise that all the changes we can make on a personal level will make a nicer environment for us all to live in.”

The agent’s director Louis Oroxco Lopez said: “We’re not going to change the world overnight but as a business we can try and minimise our footprint.”

I’m sure your vendors and purchasers will agree… attending a climate change rally is much more important than selling houses and looking after your customers

Are they taking on properties with gas boilers?

The window looks like it’s been vandalised.   If you take the decision to do this – at least do a decent job of it.

Funny how these climate change supporters including the ones interviewed on the news never seem to live or work in London? It’s planned to go on for 2 weeks!! If the centre of 5 regional cities were brought to a standstill they might feel differently. One of the climate protestors leaders was interviewed by Andrew Neil a couple of days ago.  Her name was “Zion Lights” (I know, you couldn’t make it up!). She just embarrassed herself and the climate change movement.
