Estate agency launches letting division after completing acquisition

James Douglas has increased its presence in Newport after completing the acquisition of a local agency and launching a letting division in the city.

The estate agency, which is part of the Seraph Group employs 60 people across south Wales, has completed the purchase of Gwent Home Rentals.

The company, which also acquired Nuttall Parker in 2021, will reportedly see turnover increase to £3m following recent growth thanks in part to the expansion into lettings.

Douglas Haig, managing director of James Douglas, said: “The lettings arm which has launched in Newport this month will be known as James Douglas Lettings.”

Haig also confirmed that James Douglas plan to retire the Nuttal Parker name and rebrand.

He added: “We are phasing out the Nuttall Parker name with the sales arm being known as Nuttall Parker | James Douglas in 2024.

“Next year, we will retire the Nuttall Parker name and be known as James Douglas to align with our branches throughout south Wales.”
