Estate agency pair notch up 12th acquisition

Claire Ramsbottom and Chan Khangura

Chan Khangura and his father, Kashmir Khangura, have completed their 12th estate agency acquisition, expanding their growing network across West Yorkshire.

The pair, who operate Whitegates offices in Huddersfield, Brighouse and Pontefract, as well as a Martin & Co branch in Pontefract, have acquired Claire Ramsbottom’s lettings portfolio in Huddersfield.

Under the agreement, Claire Ramsbottom’s lettings portfolio will be incorporated into the Whitegates Huddersfield office.

Ramsbottom will remain active in the local property market, shifting her focus to residential sales, supported by eXp.

Co-franchise owner Chan Khangura said: “This was an excellent opportunity to acquire a well-managed, high-quality lettings portfolio that complements our existing operation. Claire has built strong relationships with her landlords over the years, and we are committed to maintaining the same level of service and care they are used to. Our team is looking forward to welcoming both landlords and tenants into Whitegates and supporting them through the transition.”

Ramsbottom commented: “The time was right to focus entirely on residential sales. My new brand, Claire Ramsbottom eXp, is built around delivering a personal, high-level service and that takes real time and attention. Strategically it made sense to move my landlord clients to someone with the experience and infrastructure to support them as legislation and compliance continue to evolve, and Chan and the team at Whitegates were the natural choice. I’m proud of what I built over nearly a decade, and I know my clients are in excellent hands.”

Rob Smith, TPFG group managing director, added: “Chan and Kashmir continue to demonstrate the benefits of a strategic, well-planned approach to growth. Completing their twelfth acquisition is a significant achievement and reflects both their commitment to the Whitegates brand and their strong standing within the local property market.”
