Estate agency notches up 130 years in business

Hilbery Chaplin in Romford, Essex, is celebrating 130 years in business.

The estate agency, founded by Sir George Chaplin in 1894, was originally based in Golders Green, north London, before moving to Essex.

The agency now has four branches in Romford, Hornchurch, Shenfield and Laindon and specialise in both residential and commercial properties.

The company took to the streets recently to mark their anniversary with the local community, as well as a host a series of gatherings for staff and clients.

A company spokesperson told EYE: “On July 16th we proudly marked our 130th anniversary. Since 1894, we’ve been dedicated to helping you find your perfect home and making property dreams come true.

“From our humble beginnings to becoming a trusted name in real estate, we owe our success to our loyal clients, dedicated team, and supportive community… Here’s to many more years of exceptional service and finding the perfect homes [for clients].”
