Estate agency marks 20th anniversary with acquisition of rival firm

L-R: Rupert Briggs, Andrew Bartlett and Richard Digance

The Personal Agent has completed the acquisition of Bartlett & Cooke Estate Agents in Tadworth, Surrey.

The founder of Bartlett & Cooke Estate Agents, Andrew Bartlett, is staying on and will continue to run the Tadworth branch together with Polly Lister and the support and marketing from the rest of The Personal Agent group.

The Personal Agent is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year and this purchase is a great way to enhance those celebrations, according to Rupert Briggs, the owner and director of The Personal Agent.

The company now has six branches, with the other offices located in Tadworth, Banstead, Stoneleigh, and two in Epsom.

Briggs told EYE: “We have admired Andrew’s business for a long time and felt it was an opportunity too good to miss. This acquisition is an important part of our strategy to strengthen the areas we operate in. It is perfectly positioned between our market leading Epsom, Banstead and Stoneleigh branches. With other offices currently being considered, and a franchise model with significant interest, these are exciting times.”

Bartlett added: “The Personal Agent seemed the perfect choice when I was considering selling my business. I am delighted to be staying on to assist in their growth and to continue working in Tadworth and the surrounding villages. Polly Lister will also be staying on and we look forward to very successful times ahead.”
