Agency group LSL reports surge in revenues

Another big residential property company has announced very strong results.

LSL – parent company of Reeds Rains, Your Move and Marsh & Parsons – said that in the four months to the end of April, turnover for the group was up 22%, and in its estate agency business up 24% on a year ago.

It said its estate agency division had “traded very strongly”.

Between the New Year and the end of January, revenue from sales went up 34% compared with last year, with lettings income up 12%.

Marsh & Parsons, its London business, had revenues up 23%.

In an interim management statement, LSL said it would continue targeting “selective smaller acquisitions” in buying up estate agents, and had acquired Hawes and Co, a six-branch business in south London.

The company said it was upbeat about the rest of this year, and expects “significant growth in market transaction volumes”.

LSL’s report comes in a week when Countrywide, Zoopla and Rightmove all announced similarly positive news.
